Hi Andrew et al.,
It turns out there was indeed a problem with PeopleSoft HR yesterday,
which lasted roughly from 3:30am through 1:25pm.
My understanding is that our monitoring processes worked fine and
triggered a page at 3:30am. At that point a staff member reviewed and
implemented a fix, then signed off believing the problem had been
addressed.
Unfortunately, the problem wasn't completely resolved; and, to compound
matters, the monitoring function was inadvertently left in a disabled
state. The result was the outage Sunday morning and into the early
afternoon.
Andrew, thank you for reporting the problem yesterday, and my apologies
to all for this service disruption.
