so spring must be coming! 
 
I heard the first drumming on February 8 this year and last year. 
 
Cardinals have been singing for several weeks, and chickadees started their "spring songs" in January. My little flock of goldfinches is increasingly noise (and some are getting a bit yellow). The mornings sound busy and exciting. The quietest part of winter is over.
