Subject: Important Vermont Standard message
The Vermont Standard has asked us to contact Woodstock Village
residents on an important matter.
Somehow an important news item intended to remind voters of the
Tuesday, March 16th Village meeting and associated Australian Ballot
was misplaced and did not get printed in this week's Standard.
We have provided that news item below and hope you will consider its
content. Thanks!
ATTEND YOUR VILLAGE ANNUAL MEETING ON MARCH 16TH
On Tuesday, March 16th at 7:30 pm the Village of Woodstock will hold
its Annual Meeting at the Woodstock Town Hall. Earlier in the day, from
7am to 7pm you can vote by Australian ballot for your Village officers.
There are 15 additional articles in the Annual Village Meeting Warning
on which Village residents will vote during the evening meeting. One
of those, Article Eleven, invites the community to direct the Village
Trustees to endorse the efforts of Sustainable Woodstock’s East End
committee in supporting further study and development of a Public
Waterfront Park at the property currently known as “The Jungle”.
The Village owned property is 3.2 acres of the more than seven acre
total parcel, the adjacent land belonging to private parties. It is
the only publicly owned access to the Ottaquechee River that can
provide local residents public use of the river.
We are asking the community’s support in this beginning effort to
reclaim and improve this property that is the entrance to our Village.
There have been many efforts in the past and we are building on those
challenges and the knowledge gained. With your support, perhaps this
time we can be successful.
To see the entire Village Meeting Warning, you may pick up a copy of
the Village Annual Report at Town Hall, the Library, and local
businesses.
PLEASE VOTE ON MARCH 16TH BETWEEN 7 AM AND 7PM AND PLEASE ATTEND THE
VILLAGE MEETING AT 7:30 PM.
