The University of Massachusetts Medical School Summer Undergraduate
Research Opportunity is a non-academic credit, ten-week, structured
research experience. The program consists of "hands-on" laboratory
research experience with an investigator serving as a mentor, role model
and advisor. Program dates are May 31, 2010 - August 6, 2010. A
generous stipend, housing and travel to/from Worcester are provided.
Sponsored by the Office of School Services, the Summer Undergraduate
Research Opportunity program is two combined programs. One is funded by
the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Summer Undergraduate
Research Experience (SURE) is funded by the UMMS Office of Research. The

Applications must be submitted online. The application submission
deadline is March 12, 2010 including supplemental application materials.
