At a GMAS field trip to Burlington's Intervale this morning most of the 34 participants got to see a single (but eligible) Rusty Blackbird. This bird was next to the road about halfway between the "sludge pond" and Adam's Berry Farm. Otherwise, the group saw a reasonable sample of the usuals-gulls, crows, starlings, RT (Red-tailed) Hawks (2), American Robins, Downy and Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Cardinal, Song Sparrows, Canada Geese, Mallards, Common Mergansers, and so forth. A lone Golden-crowned Kinglet was heard by some, but not all of the group. Also, a Brown-headed Cowbird was seen.
All in all it was a pleasant morning with a good number of birds seen and heard.
