Hi VTBirders,

I had my first Red-Shouldered Hawk of the season in Essex.  It looke like a
juvenile.  Full list from the morning is below.

Notes:     sunny, 40 F
Number of species:     15

Mallard     17     7 on a partially frozen beaver pond.  The rest on the
Winooski River.
Common Merganser     4     On the Winooski River.
Red-shouldered Hawk     1     juvenile, calling

Black-capped Chickadee     13     singing
