Subject: [HLTHPROF] RA Program expansion means recruitment for more
Chief Research Associates (an advertisement)
To: [log in to unmask]
Colleagues
Hartford Hospital, in Hartford, CT and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New
London, CT have joined with the Research Associates Program at St. Vincent’s
Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT as charter members of the National Alliance
of Research Associates Programs (NARAP). The plan is for these new RA
programs to begin enrolling subjects in a tobacco cessation study in the
fall semester, 2010.
All three locations are recruiting Chief Research Associates (CRAs).
The CRA is a volunteer who gives about twenty (20) hours per week on average
to the program.
· undergraduate degree already completed
· applying to medical school
· available to begin in May, 2010
· Program Director's assistant for the academic year
· “first port of call” for RAs' on-line issues
· involved in all aspects of clinical research
· attends didactic sessions and research meetings
· is the principal or associate investigator on a study
While as the stock portfolio commercials say, past performance does not
guarantee future success, all the CRAs who have completed their application
cycles have been accepted to medical school or dental school, except one who
chose a PhD program in clinical research.
If you have a graduating senior or post-bac who might be interested in this
position, please have them send a CV, transcript (unofficial from the web is
okay), and results of standardized tests (SAT, ACT, MCAT, DAT, GRE, etc.) to
me ([log in to unmask]) by 15 April. Candidates called for
interviews may complete them by phone if distance is an issue.
Any questions, please give me a call.
All the best.
