Greetings,
In partnership with the UVM Chapter of the Student Wildlife Society and
Professor Allan
Strong, we are in the process of launching a long-term population study of
Black-capped
Chickadees (Poecile atricapillus) in the Jericho Research Forest, in Jericho
Vermont.
In total, Jericho Research Forest is now home to 54 chickadees with color
bands. We
intend to band more in the coming years. However, much of our data will
come from
resighting done by anyone who comes to Jericho Research Forest. Take a walk
in the woods
with a pair of binoculars and try to find our colorfully banded birds! If
you see one,
write down its color combination and send it to us online.
