Although it started out fairly dark and cold today, Thursday the 9th,
the afternoon finished very nicely; and I got to see a male Eastern
Towhee exploring in my back yard several different times in the
afternoon, both under my feeders and elsewhere.
According to the latest Vermont Bird Checklist, their median arrival
is in the third week of April, so this one is on the early side.
I have had them only a couple other times in the past here as a yard
bird; with the latest being early May of 2004.
Happy Birding, Larry Haugh
