Apologies if this has been asked and answered before. Here's the scenario:
- Google Apps for Education with a primary domain, "primary.org"
- a domain alias, "secondary.org"
- Email stuff is fine. I run BIND in-house and therefore have total
control over DNS for both the primary and secondary domains. Email to
user@primary or to user@secondary works.
- In the primary domain, I can make a Google site, and then make a web
address mapping in the admin cpanel and the requisite CNAME addition,
such that "blah.primary.org" displays the content of the site.
What I would like to be able to do, and cannot figure out, is to have
"blah.secondary.org" point to a Google site as well. In other words,
if I make an entry in my zone file for "blah.secondary.org" as a CNAME
to ghs.google.com, and then I attempt to request
http://blah.secondary.org, I get a generic Google "not found" error.
The only way I have found to accomplish what I want is to run a local
webserver, point blah.secondary.org at that Apache instance, and then
redirect to blah.primary.org. Not ideal.
Does anyone know how to do this without having to use a "middle man"
webserver? I've looked for the answer in Google's documentation, but
no luck yet.
Thank you very much,
