Same way but the patient has to have their arm rotated out and I usually have to twist alittle to get my images, after an hour or so-I'm tired.
Did a pre and a post back to back the other day and my leg went numb from the hip to the foot-- not fun'

Lisa,
What position are you and the patient in when you do these? I like 'em seated or lying down with their head elevated, next to me, with their arm on a pillow in my lap. It's usually pretty comfortable though the upper left arm can be uncomfortable proximally.

I do a lot of them these days as my surgeon likes to have them done post op on fistulas.
I do many locations for him and give him 3-5 signals at the anastamosis site. (grafts-sites)
Then I like to give him the signals every 10cm in the fistula working centrally. I have the Zonare and it is really pretty easy. Gives all the measurements in one signal, go one to next. Probably the worst part about
Fistula imaging in the position you and the patient have to be in.

Any RVT's out there do flow volume measurements on AVF grafts? if so what location do you take the measurement at in the graft? we have a surgeon requesting this. I have scanned many AVF grafts just never have had to do flow volumes measurements before.
Thanks,
Mike, B.S. RVT
