That depends on a few factors: what fatty acids are you interested in,
how complex is your sample, how much you need to inject... etc. There
are tradeoffs between all these needs that have to be considered for
your own samples (e.g., thick film is good for short FAMEs, but not
ideal for complex sample mixtures).
