With effort I tracked down one of the Short-billed Dowitchers at Dead Creek this afternoon. He was located on the narrow mud flats next to the road connecting the east and west parking lots at Brilyea. Also, I saw numerous Killdeer and Least Sandpipers, both Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, a Semipalmated Sandpiper, and two Spotted Sandpipers. A nice bonus was a juvenile Sora feeding on the flats opposite the first pull off along the road to the Brilyea access.
