This observer took the opportunity of visiting the northwestern part of the
state camping at Lake Carmi State Park over the 28th and 29th of July. The
first afternoon and evening I explored the immediate environs around the
lake. Day Two, I headed for the well known birding spots in the Swanton
area and finally on Day Three I headed south toward the St. Albans' "birdy"
areas and then home.

Location: Lake Carmi State Park
Observation date: 7/28/10
Notes: This observer arrived at the state park just before noon and
proceeded to explore the area for the next few hours on foot. The road to the
camp sites transects an extensive bog that transitions into an alder swamp
to the east and a small cattail marsh.
