Responsibilities: Demonstrates compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of VASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST, providing individualized, safe and efficient services to patients and assistance to their families and visitors. Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization. Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level requiring limited supervision. The RVT maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field of vascular disease and new procedures, as they evolve. Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Coordinates work schedule with supervisor and front desk to assure workload coverage. Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient while in the technologist's care. Maintains a daily log of patients seen / completes exam billing forms. Maintains ultrasound equipment and work areas & maintains adequate supplies. Assists with the maintenance of laboratory accreditation via ICAVL and JCAHO. Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating hospital, physician, referral or commercial agencies.
Satisfactory completion of a formal vascular technology training program (2-4 years) and active RVT status or registry-eligible, graduate from a diagnostic ultrasound training program (2-4 years) and active status RVT or registry-eligible or approximately two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences with active status RVT or registry-eligible. Modality specific ARDMS certification required, or obtained within 1 year of employment. Proof of current BCLS certification. Compliance with CME requirements for certifications as appropriate. Prefer minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a Vascular Lab.
