I stopped by Bristol Pond this afternoon to check in with the Sandhill Cranes, which I had not seen since Spring. Without too much difficulty I spotted three Sandhill Crane heads sticking up in the marsh to the south of the boat access. Their heads kept bobbing up and down like so many Whack-A-Moles, so counting them was tricky. I recollect seeing only a single adult crane earlier this year. I believe that the three cranes I saw today represent two adults and a juvenile.
