I got a phone call from a Department administrator this morning. For the last
week or two her department has gotten a fair number of mis-directed pieces of
mail. The addressees were individuals, academic departments or bodies like
Admissions. All of the addresses read 481 Main St Burlington, VT 05401.
If you Google search on University of Vermont it comes up with the 481 Main
address even though the location on the map points to another location.
I think folks are Google searching for UVM and getting the wrong mailing
address. They then happily send off all types of things safe in the knowledge
that Google provided them with the right address. What should we do about this?
Or am I asking the right people?
