Not sure if you have a problems similar to one I had a while ago that related to an graphic attachment in my outgoing mail. The error message that came up was not related to it at all though I don't remember if it was similar to yours. It took me days to determine the problem and when I deleted the outgoing mail with the graphic attachment, it went back to working fine!

Wondering if anyone can help me out with this...
I have my UVM e mail account on my iphone and have been able to use it
just fine until recently. I noticed that messages I thought I had sent,
had not actually been sent and were sitting in my outbox. When I tried
to re-send them, or send another message, I got this error message: The
user name or password for "SMTP:[log in to unmask]" is incorrect.
I believe this problem started before this, but I had to update my
password for my UVM account (did this on my work computer) and then also
updated it on my phone. unfortunately whether I set the password as the
old one, or the new one, I can't seem to send out mail.
