This interaction observed by my husband last week. The wren was clinging to tree stump on which the wp was pecking at the suet feeder above. The wren kept flying out from the trunk and coming back - one side, then the other. Then he was on the ground seeming to be picking up something. Hubby finally realized the wren was 'fly catching' and picking up suet pieces that the pecking wp was dropping. Cool observation!
Lots of activity during the day of snowfall. Great-Blue Heron seen flying overhead last Sunday. Brrrrrrr..
