Hi VT Birders,

The VT Bird Record Records Committee received a lot of great reports of rare and unusual birds during the past year.  We thank all of you for your willingness to document these rare sightings and your efforts to improve our understanding of the distribution and abundance of birds in Vermont.  Your birding prowess contributed 1 new species to the state list: Eurasian Collared Dove, one new breeding bird to the state: Forster's Tern, and two historical records that were "cleaned up" to more accurately address when and where the species was first observed in Vermont (Swallow-tailed Kite and Atlantic Puffin).
