I would like to add we have an event for this weekend posted on our county site. Feeder List I. The purpose is to get you to get a yard list from your feeders and enter it on eBird. This will help you 1. set up your eBird account. 2. Discover any challenges you may have so your county captains can help you out. 3. enter a site were most people do most of their birding and 4. Find some birds. Once you set up your account, you hit the submit records tab under the header. You will then be asked to find and name your site (use the find it on a map and just call it by either your street address or even my yard). Once you do this you will be asked to choose from a few count types. For this, I recommend the Area Count. acreage (most of us know how much land we own or just estimate the portion of your property you are covering), date and time started and time spent (reads duration). Then the fun of entering your count. In some cases you may be asked to confirm a rarity or a high count. Just go to the species and click the confirm box (in red) unless you made a mistake or typo. In that case correct it and resubmit. It is easy and if you forget something, you will be prompted to correct it before you move on. I can usually submit 3 or 4 daily counts in 15- 30 minutes and I am only a step above computer illiterate. Any problems or questions, PLEASE contact one of the captains. That is why we are here. HAVE FUN and good birding. Once you have your yard as a site, you can access it in the my sites tab. Easy from then out.

Subject: [VTBIRD] Quest
To all Bennington County birders:
We are set to compete in the Vermont Quest! and are calling on all Bennington County birders to join us. We will not turn down other county participants who would like to help us (Patty).
Randy Schmidt in Manchester has set up our very own Bennington County website at http://store.thevermontbirdplace.com/vermontcountyquest.aspx<http://store.thevermontbirdplace.com/vermontcountyquest.aspx>
Captains are Randy, Kevin Hemeon and myself.
To avoid filling up everyone's mailbox, write to me, not to the VT bird list, if you would like to join us: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
