Hi all. I've made thirty birding trips to Cape May in the past twenty years so I know the area very well
(but not as well as the locals).
I'd just point out that the dates of the May festival is no co-incidence. It's the best time to be there for
spring birding. In no way will the area be over run with birders. There are thousands of rooms available and lots of
territory to spread out.
Also, Cape May Point has the best birding in the fall but in the spring the Delaware Bay Shore and Belleplain
State Forest are the hot spots, so staying in Wildwood or anywhere north of Cape May itself is a good choice,
although other communities may lack the charm of Cape May City.
