Third time never fails. Spurred on by Tom Berriman's video from the weekend I ventured forth again to the wilds of Middlesex to look for the Northern Hawk Owl. Success! I found the owl perched on a treetop right next to River Road. The bird was located near Terrace Lane (west of Jacob Road and Jones Brook Road) directly across from the little housing development, much to the delight of the kids getting off the school bus this afternoon.
