I just returned from June and Don Kenney's house in Bolton. I arrived there at
8:16 a.m. There were many birds actively feeding on and under the feeders.
After about 9 minutes the Varied Thrush (or as the Kenney's prefer to call
it' "The VT") came down from a tree and began feeding on the ground in the
same area that it had been seen in the past. I watched it for about a minute.
It flew up into another tree and I did not see it again. I waited for about five
minutes then left after I saw a neighborhood cat come into that same area
and settle in. All birds that were there:
Rock Pigeon- 2
Mourning Dove- 1
Hairy Woodpecker- 1f
Blue Jay- 5
American Crow- 1
Black-capped Chickadee- 8
Tufted Titmouse- 2
White-breasted Nuthatch- 1
Varied Thrush- 1m
Dark-eyed Junco- 2
P.S I was very glad to hear that June had successful heart surgery and was
resting afterwards. Thanks Pat for that update.
Enjoy Birds,
Jim Mead
