Marv and Sue Elliott, Sue Wetmore and myself were at Shelburne Bay this
noon. We are "leaning toward" calling a female Tufted Duck. The bird was
well seen and was keeping company with a female Greater Scaup. [I do have
digiscope pictures and have as yet not downloaded them.] The bird is brown,
dark back, blue bill slightly upturned with dark tip. No facial markings.
Sue E. or Sue W. may want to expand.
The reason for the post at this time is in hope that others may check it
out. It was sighted about 100 m out in line with the rock peninsular.
There was also a Ring-necked Duck, male, among all the goldeneyes.
