A first year eagle (probably the one that has been seen in Waitsfield) flew over our house and landed in a tree in our north pasture this morning.  It stayed a while, and flew back to the south and across the Mad River, landing in a large pine that is just across the river from our driveway.  I could not locate it there, although the crows could.  I checked again after a bit.  All quiet with the crows -- the bird has probably moved on.  I'll update if it shows up again.
