With one last list finally received, I can now report the Randolph CBC results,
held on December 18th. In the fourth year of this count, the best conditions
(mostly sunny, high near 32, 2" snow cover) but lowest species count (30). New
high counts for regular feeder birds (mourning dove, chickadee, titmouse, wb
nuthatch) which reflects addition of half a dozen more feeder watchers. One of
them was rewarded with the sight of an adult Bald Eagle soaring over her house,
and perching close enough so she could get an identifiable photograph from her
yard. (You can't make it up) The first eagle on the Randolph CBC, two other
additions this year were Rough-legged Hawk and Golden-crowned Kinglet.
