What do you feed a Varied Thrush? Why June Kenney's special home made suet
mix of course! If you would like her recipe please contact me off line.
Location: Fernwood Manor, Bolton
Observation date: 2/21/11
Notes: Had a nice visit with Don and June Kenney this afternoon. In
fact, she shared her recipe for suet cakes that the Varied Thrush loves!
They hang the suet at the base of the tree for the VT, and also about 5 feet
higer for the other birds. I also had the pleasure of meeting Ken Cox who
was already there. He had driven up from Windham Co. in search of the NHO
and the VT. It is sunny today, but very windy and cold (@15). I guess it
doesn't matter when you bird from the bedroom window!
