Every year in late winter, when a little bit of a snowmelt happens, I
have this day-long parade of robins hippity-hopping single file, most of
them nicely spaced about a foot apart, up one side of my road and down
the other, stopping now and then to peck at this and that just past the
slowly clearing edges of the pavement. It's just a little bit eerie to
glance out the front window just about any time during the day right up
to dusk and see this silent seeming pilgrimage going on.
Anybody else out in the country notice this?
