My son and I enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day at Shelburne Museum. The
intent was to xc ski/snowshoe and I was not prepared to
look for birds (no binoculars). However, we saw robins, waxwings,
crows, starlings and chickadees in great numbers!
The Shelburne Museum has opened the grounds to the general public for
a few days this week. Today through Friday, you can get out
and explore between 10am and noon (free for museum members, just $5
for non-members). The buildings are closed for the winter, but the
grounds are beautiful, even this time of year! I recommend it for
birders and non-birders!!
(check out the ornamental fruit trees between the Pleissner Gallery
and Owl Cottage for robins and waxwings!!)
