It is such a nice spring day that it's hard to pay attention to the winter
birds that are still here. Hopefully they don't know something that we
don't. Today at lunch time, there were 6 Bohemian Waxwings merrily sipping
the sweet sap that was dripping out of the ancient Sugar Maple in my
neighbor's yard. The tree had been pruned in the fall, so its wounds were
weeping. Other winter birds that are still here in Washington Co are
Redpolls and Tree Sparrows.
The spring chorus keeps me hopeful for warmer weather and new birds.
