Today I went to Blogett Rd in Vernon to see if the Greater White-fronted Geese were still
around; they weren't. There were ~100 C. Geese, 3 Snow Geese, and ~30 Snow Goose
decoys along with a couple hunters waiting, I imagine, for the 3 Snow Geese to take off.
After witnessing 1 Snow Goose getting blasted out of the air last March, I didn't hang around
very long. Ten Snow Geese, including the juv. blue phase I spotted yesterday at the water
treatment plant, were in the field behind the Marina Restaurant in Brattleboro with ~ 150 C.
Geese. A N. Shrike was busy around the Retreat Meadows near the water treatment plant.
