We have 96 spp. so as of this morning. 4 more to go in order to break our first 100. I believe we could do that this weekend. To that end, I hope everyone can grab the binos this weekend and enter a list or 2. Remember, they don't have to be new species, even the commoners are good and increase our knowledge. Suggestions for you all. 1. Ducks are coming thru right now. Lake Paran and Miller's Pond are great spots. Based on personal observations, they come in in the evening just as it is getting dark. IN numbers. Have a good scope to help pick them out but, your binos will get most. There must be other spots. If you know of flooded cornfields, puddle ducks seem to like these. There must be other lakes starting to open up. Let us know about them. 2. Still need Phoebes, it is on the early side but, they have been found in Windham. Keep your ears open. 3. Sparrows. They have started to show but, the next couple of weeks should see greater diversity. Keep an eye on the ground under your feeders. 4. Hawks. Broad-wings should be starting and have had a sighting or 2 in other counties. We still need Red-shouldered too. Any should be good to list though.
Just one of the county captains butting in. LOL Hope to see some of you out there. Look forward to some more lists. Enjoy
