We are considering using "Sharpening" oil, a mineral oil to help us
sharpen and lubricate our increment borers (tree corers). The MSDS shows
that the oil contains hydrocarbons, but there is no mention of nitrogen.
Have any of you used sharpening oil with tree corers and do you know if
it impacts measured 13C or 15N content of wood?
Thanks in advance,
