I took my dogs and sat the by the ball field last night with the lights off for a few minutes.
All I could think of was "Nature's Glitter". A perfect way to end the summer solstice! Love your ermine/shrew story, Nancy :-))

Cuckoo's very vocal, from past have found this is parents returning with food locating fledged young, I had (3) locations vocalizing at same time. Blue birds are on second brood. Have a Grackle family foraging on lawn along with two young Cowbirds. The Grackle is ignoring the begging young and I saw a male Cowbird feed it, I thought the Cowbirds did not raise young, something inside told it to feed young that was begging from anything it could get close to. Last night an Ermine lugging a shrew, that probably out weighted it which is why I got to see it in the road where it did not have to contend with the tall grass. Okay Sue not as exciting as a large Black Bear but it sure was cute. Fire fly show last night was magical, 1000's in my 5 acre field!
