I thought many would take interest in an encounter I had this evening in
Colchester. The short version of the story is that I rescued a Robin that
had been trapped in a tangle of fishing line. It should serve as an example
of the tremendous harm fishing line, netting, and other litter can cause to
birds and wildlife. The more descriptive version of the story (and
pictures) are up on the NBNC blog:
Other birds observed *after* the Robin had been freed included Green Heron,
Wilson's Snipe, Virginia Rail, and Carolina Wren.
