This morning, Ted Murin and I found 10 Least Sandpipers along the road
out to Brilyea at Dead Creek WMA. All individuals that we got good
looks at were adults.
Although I don't know what the plans are this year with respect to
drawdowns, currently the water level is relatively low. The
long-lasting high water seems to have resulted in a lot of unvegetated
areas throughout the channel, which as the water has receded, is now
providing at least some shorebird habitat.
