We're getting a ton of offline file sync errors under the catchall of "The Specified Network Name is No Longer Available". Unfortunately this error stops the sync cold, after which you have to ignore the file manually, then restart the sync. Lather, rinse, repeat, pull hair out in fistfuls.
Machines are Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit, all Dells either desktop or laptop.
I've read a bunch of trouble reports on this and it appears that the usual culprit is either a not-so-great NIC driver, or a duplex mismatch.
In the case of my desktop machine, it appears that the most current Dell driver (14.2.sumpin) for the built in Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx gigabit card wasn't so great. There is a more recent version (188.8.131.52) available from the Broadcom website that appears to have solved my desktop problem.
As for our laptop users, the fix that appears to work is to pin the network card at the actual speed of the network. Most often this problem appears in buildings with old 10 half networking.
Annnd of course there was also an improve Intel network driver for the gigbit card in the Latitude 6410 as well.
So, if you're getting offline sync errors, upgrade the NIC driver, pin the speed and duplex.
