A stop at blueberry lake in warren today revealed a large flock of 70 Black
Scoters, accompanied by 1 White Winged Scoter. It was interesting to note
the size difference, with the larger WW appearing to "chaperone" the smaller
black scoters around the lake.,
There was also a small flock (8 birds) of mid sized shorebirds along the
eastern shore, but they were too far off for me to make out any good
identifying features with my binos. I returned an hour later with my scope,
and alas, they were gone. Oh, well.
