This morning there were a dozen American Coots at the south end of Berlin
Pond, foraging actively. The Horned Grebe was way out towards the middle of
the pond, not easily visible from either end. There could have been other
birds tucked along the edges of the pond, I made a pretty quick visit and
wasn't overly thorough in my search. Hope they stick around for others to
p.s. North Branch Nature Center has one more pond walk coming up!
*Berlin Pond Waterfowl Walk*
Saturday, November 5, 7:30-10 a.m.
Fee: $5 members, $10 nonmembers
Fall migration isn’t over yet! We’ll look for lingering loons, waterfowl and
more on Berlin Pond. We may find American Coot, Black Scoter or some other
surprise at this birding hotspot.
