Today there was a large flock (125) of Canada Geese at Charlotte Town
Beach, with one odd one mixed in. This was a noticeably smaller goose
with the same general coloring as the Canadas but with a smaller bill
and a head that looked like a circle rather than an oval. Its chin
strap also looked thinner than on the other geese present. I’m
assuming it was a Cackling Goose, but I’d love it if someone else
would take a look and either confirm or correct.
