Hello Vermont Birders:
I stopped by the Charlotte ferry cove at noon yesterday and could easily
pick out the hen Redhead but no sign of the drake.
On a side note, for those involved in the Burlington CBC...
1. On Tuesday evening, at 4:53 p.m., a Great Horned Owl was perched
roadside (west side) on Dorset Street in South Burlington south of the
overpass but before you come up to the ball fields on the east side as you
are heading south. It was a beautiful silhouette teed up at dusk - hefty
raptor with a large head and wide-set ear tufts.
2. Longtime locals probably are well aware of the crow roost location (I am
not) for the CBC but hundreds were staging behind Lowe's on Shelburne Road
at sunset yesterday. When I came out of Hannaford's a few minutes later
they were pouring north (to Red Rocks?).
