Chandler, You might also consider the 25-year-old book: "Evolution as Entropy: Toward a Unified Theory of Biology" by Daniel R. Brooks and E.O. Wiley, Chicago, 1986. ONe of their main points is that entropy increases are increases in complexity in many (or most)  cases. I imagine you can reach Steve Jones through the (British) Association for Science Education, which probably has a website.
