UVM Students, Faculty and Staff:
Before you leave campus for winter break, please help the University
avoid thousands of dollars in wasted energy costs. UVM buildings will be
closed, and most lighting, heating and ventilation systems will be set
to "sleep mode" from December 16th through January 2nd.
UVM can reduce energy use even more with your help:
· Turn off -- or better yet unplug -- any electrical devices that will
not be needed over the break: lights, computers, monitors, printers and
chargers.
· Check that windows are securely closed, including storm windows.
Frozen pipes cause expensive damage.
· Close the window shades or blinds to lessen heat loss.
· Set the thermostat or radiator control valve to 55-60 degrees before
leaving and don't forget to lock doors!
Notice energy problems, or can't close your storm window? Contact UVM
Service Operations Support through e-mail [log in to unmask] for assistance.
Questions or suggestions regarding energy conservation? Contact Richard
Wolbach, Energy Management Engineer, at 656-8213 or [log in to unmask]
Thank you for your help, and warm wishes for the holidays.
