Late last week we were skating about a mile south of the Champlain
Bridge. The ice had a half inch fluffy snow cover. We found a decoy
frozen into the ice that had been visited by another bird. We also
found a drake mallard that appears to have been driven onto the ice and
was then dispatched. The bird was banded. It was hatched last year
and banded a year ago by William Crenshaw in West Addison. The following

not include pictures of what was left of the mallard).
