The Varied Thrush was seen this morning by the home owner at dawn and seen again by me and my sister at 8:45AM. It was sitting in the maples and feeding on the cracked corn on the rock wall behind the house. It was there for about 10 minutes before flying off into the pines on the right.

Subject: [VTBIRD] Varied Thrush in Waitsfield
Now upstaging any Snowy Owls is a Varied Thrush that Gib and Sue Geiger discovered at their Mountain Valley Farm in Waitsfield today. Gib and Sue are great folks who would welcome visitors. They're at 1719 Common Road in Waitsfield (off Route 100). Details and a couple of photos are on The Daily Wing: http://www.dailywing.net/.
