A bit late to this discussion, but the document you want to read is
It talks about Vista, but I don't think anything's changed with regards to
Windows 7. You can either buy the full retail product, or an upgrade
license with software assurance, plus one copy of the media. I'm still
unclear about whether the $48 upgrade licenses we get from either
Dell/ASAP or SHI include the SA, so I can't tell you if that's the cheaper
option, but I suspect the upgrades are cheaper than buying the retail
product. If you find out, let us know.
