I took a spin through Technology Park in South Burlington this afternoon and beheld the first flock of Bohemian Waxwings (22) that I have seen in Chittenden County this year. They were hongry! They were chowing down on the fruit still hanging from the ornamental trees that line Community Drive. The BOWX had plenty of competition from over 600 American Robins and a handful of European Starlings that have taken up residence at the park for most of the winter. Interestingly, the BOWX were confined to a single tree, whereas the robins were more or less uniformly distributed thoughout the park in groups of 40-60 in the trees and on the ground.
