I'm not sure if the woodcocks are back here yet (haven't been here in the
evening recently), but the North Branch Nature Center is a good place for
Woodcock viewing. Sitting on the big rock in the field is a great spot to
watch the show!

Speaking of woodcocks, I will be in the Montpelier area for most of this
weekend and next week. Might there be a viewing spot near North Branch
Nature Center or the surrounds that anyone knows of?

great place to view them while they are doing their thing. There is access
ramp off of the loop road (Old Country Road on Google maps) and the best
place to view is at the southern end of the mowed portion of the field
facing the hillside meadow to the west. This evening, the one woodcock
reliably launched eastward off the hillside meadow, so it was very easy to
pick up the silhouette in the remaining sky light.
