Hey SEEDS! Here is the lesson plan that Taylor and Katie came up with from
the last meeting. Thanks Taylor and Katie!

Activity 1: Logging tag!

This game is basically freeze tag, but with a tree/logging theme. One
person will begin the game as the logger. Each player that the logger tags
will become a "stump." This stump will be frozen, remaining stationary on
his/her knees. Unlike regular freeze tag, however, the trees that become
stumps can then help the logger to log other trees. After the game, you can
ask the students how it felt to be "logged"/discuss the effects of logging.

Activity 2: Meet a tree!

For this activity, students will have the opportunity to take a closer look
at a tree. Each student will be given a paper plate and a crayon. Using
these supplies, they will trace the bark of the tree to see the pattern it
makes, etc. After, the students can show each other and discuss the
characteristics of certain trees/talk about their favorite trees.

Be sure to be in contact with your schools about when their school year
ends, and when you guys are ending your weekly visits.
